Nala is a 10-month-old Chihuahua/Terrier cross who was rescued off the streets of California and is now ready to find her forever home.

Weighing 21 lbs., she’s the perfect size—easy to take along on adventures but sturdy enough for playtime, hiking, agility etc.

This sweet girl has playful puppy energy but also settles nicely when it’s time to relax. Nala is very smart and highly trainable, and very motivated.

She patiently sleeps under her foster mom’s desk while she works if directed to do so. Nala is spayed, house-trained, and sleeps quietly in her crate through the night, making her an easy addition to a home. She also travels well in the car in her crate.

Nala is a gentle soul who doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She can be a bit timid around men and is still learning about new environments, so she’ll need a patient family to help build her confidence.

On leash, she may be a little unsure at first, but she shows no reactivity and continues to improve with guidance.

She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is good with dog-savvy cats who understand her playful energy. Nala also does well with older children; however, because she can be a bit bouncy, she may be too much for very young kids. She would especially love a home with another friendly, playful dog to help her feel secure and build confidence.

Nala absolutely loves running in the yard and has recently discovered how fun toys can be—playtime is quickly becoming her favorite part of the day!
