Meet the cutest boy, Tom Sawyer!

Age: 1 year

Sex: Male

Breed: Jack Russell Mix

Weight: 20.8 lbs — Small

Grooming Requirements: Standard

Meet Tom Sawyer, a 1-year-old Jack Russell mix weighing just under 21 lbs. Tom is a sweet, bouncy little guy with the perfect mix of puppy silliness and affection once he knows he’s safe.

Personality: Shy and soft at first, loving, playful, silly and energetic once comfortable. Tom loves to play, and his puppy zoomies are guaranteed to make you laugh.

Ideal Home: Tom would thrive in a loving, patient home that will give him time to settle in and build his confidence at his own pace. A fenced yard would be ideal so he has a safe place to run, play and get those zoomies out. He would do best with another well-matched dog in the home who can continue showing him the ropes and help teach him that the world isn’t such a scary place.

Kids: Good with kids 10+. He would likely do well with younger children too with slow, respectful introductions.

Dogs: Yes! Another well-matched dog in the home would be ideal.

Cats: Not tested.

Tom is pee-pad trained and doing very well with his house-training. He is also crate trained and does wonderfully in his crate. He’s currently working on his leash skills and is becoming a good little walker—he’s just still learning to feel confident around unfamiliar surroundings, sounds and new people.

One of my favourite things about Tom is watching his sweet, bouncy, mischievous personality come out as he begins to trust you. He may start off as a timid little guy, but once that trust is formed, you get to see the loving, playful and wonderfully silly dog underneath. Watching his confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding.

If a sweet little sidekick with puppy zoomies, a silly personality and lots of love to give once he knows you’re his person sounds like the missing piece in your family, Tom Sawyer might just be your guy.
